1 × Hangul Filler (U+3164) · space width
Blank names in games and apps: most treat it as a letter, so "name can’t be empty" checks pass.

How to use Blank Space Copy and Paste
- Pick a character. Hangul Filler works for most blank names; Braille Pattern Blank for empty messages and blank lines.
- Set how many you need. Some apps want a name at least 2 or 3 characters long.
- Press Copy, then paste it where you need the blank.
- Paste into Check what you pasted to see that the character is really there.
- If an app removes it, try another character from the list.
How it works
Pick a blank character, choose how many, and copy. Each one looks like empty space but is a real character, so apps that refuse an empty name or remove extra spaces keep it. Each dashed box in the preview is one character; a zero-width character shows as a thin line. How wide a blank really looks depends on the app and its font.
Paste into Check what you pasted to see which blank characters a text holds and how many. Everything runs in your browser: nothing you paste is sent anywhere.
Which character to use

| Zero Width Non-Joiner | U+200C | No width | Takes no room. Stops letters joining in scripts like Persian. |
| Word Joiner | U+2060 | No width | Takes no room and stops a line break between two characters. |
If an app removes it
Apps change what they accept, and some block blank names on purpose. If one character doesn’t work:
- Try the next one: Hangul Filler, then Halfwidth Hangul Filler, then Braille Pattern Blank.
- Copy 2 or 3 of them. Some apps want a minimum length.
- Put the blank between two visible characters, or after an emoji, if the app removes blanks at the start or end.
- In games where a rename costs coins or gems, test the name somewhere free first, like a chat message.
Typing a blank without copying
- Windows: hold Alt and type 255 on the number pad. Many programs insert a no-break space, which works for blank-looking folder names.
- Mac: press Option+Space for a no-break space.
Neither is a Hangul Filler, so apps that trim no-break spaces still remove them. Copying from this page works everywhere you can paste.
Hidden characters you didn’t add
Text copied from websites, documents and AI tools can carry zero-width spaces and other hidden characters that break passwords, links and search. The Invisible Character Remover finds and removes them.
Questions
What is the invisible character to copy and paste?
The most used one is the Hangul Filler (U+3164), a Korean letter that shows as a blank space. Apps treat it as a letter, so a name made of it isn’t "empty". The Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is the usual choice for blank messages and empty lines.
Why doesn’t a normal space work for a blank name?
Apps trim spaces from the start and end of a name, so a name of only spaces becomes empty and is refused. A blank character like the Hangul Filler isn’t a space, so it isn’t trimmed.
How do I send an empty message on WhatsApp?
Copy one Braille Pattern Blank or Hangul Filler here, paste it into the message box and send. The message arrives as an empty-looking bubble. A message of normal spaces can’t be sent.
What is the difference between the Hangul Filler and a zero width space?
The Hangul Filler is as wide as a space and counts as a letter, so it works for names. A zero width space takes no room at all and counts as formatting, so many apps remove it from names. It is better for splitting a word or link without showing a gap.
How do I add invisible line breaks in Instagram captions or bios?
Put a Braille Pattern Blank on each line you want to stay empty, then press Enter after it. The line then holds a character, so it isn’t removed when you post.
How do I find invisible characters in text?
Paste the text into Check what you pasted on this page to count the blank characters in it. To find and remove hidden characters in longer text, use the Invisible Character Remover.
